Anyone going to this show and did you pay alot for tickets? I was kind of hestiant about going to this show.mainly because I have been spoiled, seeing Geils in AC in 2009, front stage was a highlight for me, considering I've seen this band over 40 times, being at Fenway would of been difficult.(sound and seating) I hope they tear it up and get some motion going towards the hall of fame, which of course by now they should be in, but it was always a struggle for them thru the years.
I was torn as well, I tried to get tickets when they went on sale but could only find singles. I went to Sprinsteen at Fenway and it was a lousy place for a concert. The sound was muffled and the site lines terrible plus with the lights off the ballpark is not very fan friendly, I saw a few people fall down the stairs in the dark. I too have been lucky enough to see the J Geils Band about 50 times but after what I spent on the HOB shows and Detriot my wife would have killed me had I gone to a broker for the Fenway show. From what I hear the sound is fine on Landsdown St, I think Ill head down to Fenway and hang out outside. If your in the Bleacher Bar and see somebody who looks like Steve Martin, stop by and say Hello!
I'm planning on going. no ticket yet. But my friend from Boston said the same about fenway being a horrible place to see a show. he said the only decent seats and sound are field seats. any thoughts on where to get field tix at semi reasonable prices? whatever happened to all the talk about a 2nd show there as originally discussed before the announcement? with a show that sold out in 23 mins you'd think they would have done it. Anyhow Lansdowne street option is not what I had in mind for a trip from Jersey.
