J Geils Band easily sold out their 3 day show at the Boston Garden.
J Geils Band proved they are literally and truly the No. 1 band through their hot and exciting show. Vocalist Peter Wolf says about their rising to No. 1, "We have never forced ourselves to be commercially successful, but have been playing in our own style. Now is the time to be recognized, and it's wonderful," with his big eyes spinning. (Is spinning the correct English word for this?)
And the calm and quiet keyboard player Seth Justman says, "We never thought about when we will be successful. We always do our best when making an album and for us, success is measured by how we make the album as we wanted."
After the long, long hard work to get out of the bottom, now they can make the arena full. (Note: Shitazumi is the original word for "get out of the bottom." It is often used to describe an entertainer's not yet famous era with respect for his patience and hard work. Japanese love this idea.)
"We all came to Boston for schools, but were attracted by rock n' roll and quit schools to start the band. Since then, rock is our lover," says Peter Wolf. "We are all friends and get along well, sharing the same taste for music. That is why we could do this for 14 years. I am so glad that we are finally recognized," proudly says Seth Justman.
I added the rest of translation to "J Geils Band easily sold out their 3 day show at the Boston Garden." It says that Peter Wolf really likes Japan and Japanese audience, and that J Geils Band had a plenty of sushi at back stage. (Is it usual for them? The author found it very unusual for Americans at that time. We never thought about current sushi boom in the world 20 years ago.) This looks pretty exclusive.
